Younger cyber addicts on the rise An Interview with Dr. David Greenfield on internet addiction.
Youths all around the world have been exposed to overwhelming cyber attractions- social network, online gambling and many more. For obsessed users, it’s hard to tear away from their computer screens. It has become a national issue in recent years, as users started dropping dead from exhaustion after playing online games for days. There are an increased number of students skipping school to stay online. Which is shockingly self destructive. They have set up youth boot camps to combat this trend. Aiming to wean them from the Internet and spend time exercising and doing group activities. The government has set up 100 over internet addiction counseling centers, treatment programs in nearly 100 hospitals, and now the rescue camp. Psychiatrists estimate that up to 30% of youths under 18 are at risk of internet addiction.

Differentiation between reality and virtual Like in the movie inception, Mal,the female character can't differentiate between reality and virtual - which led to her death. It’s the same for cyber addicts as they can’t draw the line in the game.
Consequences The consequences for excessive Internet use are growing. Nearly 20% of the people going online encounter one or more of the following problems.
Solution The Internet has been designed to be visible and accessible. At present, it’s not totally possible to restrict activity or prevent access to inappropriate content. Fortunately there ’re a number of ways to control Internet use.
Anti-virus or other necessary software could be downloaded onto your computer. It could be monitored and supervised by parents or adults. You could keep a log of how many hour you use for non-essential activities. Or is there anything making you stay online for hours when you planned for just 5 minutes? Think wisely!
